Joseph Michael Linsner

Joseph Michael Linsner has quickly become one of the comic book industry's most celebrated artists. While he is most often associated with beautiful women, Linsner's paintings also incorporate a rich vocabulary of symbolic subtext, weaving images of theology, psychology, and myth together into a moving fabric of line and color.

Cry for Dawn Volume I, published in 1989, marked Linsner's debut as both publisher and writer/artist. Cry for Dawn publications released nine issues of its flagship title, as well as the Linsner/Monks collaboration Subtle Violence, before disbanding in 1993.

Since then Sirius Publishing has released a collection of Linsner's Cry for Dawn work called Angry Christ Comics, a limited edition book called Tears for Dawn, and one issue of the full-color Drama. Linsner has wrapped up the sequel to his first series Lucifer's Halo; which tells the story of Linsner's most popular creation, Dawn, as she travels between Heaven, Hell, and New York.  The sequel takes us to sometime in the near future, where Dawn is called upon  by her loyal followers, the witches of the world for help.  They are being exterminated, one by one. Dawn returns to earth, demanding vengeance upon those who are behind this great evil.

Linsner has contributed the first two covers to Jitterbug Press' Coven of Angels series. He has also painted covers for DC Comics, London Night Studios, and Topps. He is currently working on a few non- Dawn projects and planning a sequel to his extremely popular card set, Dawn  and Beyond and lots of other goodies.

On a more personal note, Joe is the best.  I have NEVER heard of another artist who is sooo nice!  Anytime and everytime we have met, Joe has been the coolest.  He knows I am a die hard fan and doesn't look down upon me for it.  In fact, it's quite the opposite.  I think Joe is absolutely THRILLED to have fans!  It's such a nice change!

I was recently at a convention where another one of my favorite artists (who shall remain nameless) was signing.  I went up, completely excited and was pretty much shot down.  The artist was very rude and acted as if he had better things to do than sign my comic book.  How RUDE!

Anyways, Joe isn't like that.  Neither is his lovely art assistant / Office Goddess Eva.  Actually,  the whole Sirius crew is the same way.  They are a bunch of guys and girls who, aside from their astounding talents, are just normal people like us.  I cannot say enough how great they are! Love you guys!
